Banana Leaf Asian Bistro on Cassat Avenue offers a straightforward dining experience centered around authentic Asian flavors, especially from Cambodian and neighboring cuisines. The interior is clean and inviting, with an unpretentious yet cozy vibe that feels welcoming for families, casual lunches, or low-key dinners.

What stands out here is the menu variety featuring noodle soups like Phnom Penh Noodles and Beef Pho, alongside stir-fried classics such as Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, plus fresh options like Papaya Salad and Cambodian Salad. The portion sizes lean towards generous, and the dishes come with fresh herbs and homemade sauces that give them a genuine home-cooked quality. It’s the kind of place where the balance between noodles and proteins can vary, but the flavors remain honest and well-seasoned.

The service tends to be quick and friendly, adding to an easygoing atmosphere that doesn’t rush you but keeps the flow smooth. Locals seem to appreciate the reasonable pricing—particularly for pho bowls and spring rolls—which makes it a practical choice for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.

Because of its neighborhood location, Banana Leaf Asian Bistro appeals most to diners looking for authentic, no-fuss Asian cuisine with a Cambodian twist. It works well for both small groups and families, especially those who enjoy sharing a variety of dishes, including kids’ favorites like beef sticks and taro bubble tea. Lunchtime or early evening visits tend to be good times to enjoy the balanced vibe: not too busy but lively enough to feel like a community spot.

Hands down the most authentic Asian food in the city, great service. Immaculate food and the presentation of the dishes were amazing too. To top it off their prices are great. Real bang for you money

Amazing service! Some of the negative reviews have extremely odd expectations. The pho is fantastic. The large is the same size you'd see at any pho plaze for a large bowl, except here it is much cheaper. The spring rolls are fresh, delicious, and a good deal. You get 3 rolls for $5.95! Highly recommend the papaya salad!

Beautiful, clean resturant. The service was quick and friendly. The food was amazing and fresh. We had the photos, loat cha, and beef sticks for our kids. They loved it and even got to the have their taro boba tea. It's up there on our list of places to revisit.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. Every dish is bursting with flavor—especially the beef stick and noodles—and the staff make you feel right at home. Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, and unforgettable food. Can’t recommend it enough!

Ordered beef sticks and spring roll to start. Beef sticks are small and spring rolls had little to no shrimp. As a meal we ordered the BA-bong which was good which i think was the best out of everything we had,the chicken curry which was decent and the loat cha was also good. My biggest complaint, as with most asian resteraunts is too much noodles and carbs. Not enough protien. Especially in the loat cha.

The pho was so sooo good and so was the milk tea but I have never gotten sliced meatballs like this in my pho before, it was like 1.5 meatball sliced into slices?? But the pho was too good

We love all styles of Asian cuisine, and this is the first time we have ever seen Cambodian cuisine available. We ordered two traditional Cambodian dishes and enjoyed them both. The Cambodian dish I ordered was spicy. I like spicy food, and on a scale from 1-10, I ordered a 6. Our server talked me down to a 4, and it was a great decision! The different flavors were unique, including the crispy egg rolls. If you like different Asian styles restaurants and have never tried Cambodian, you should definitely give them a try
